Heritage Week - a chance to talk and listen at Corlea environmental awareness day & Bioblitz

As part of our aim to work towards a Wetland Wilderness Park we will be organising opportunities for presenting the concept of the WWP, consulting with stakeholder groups and organisations and not least presenting and discussing the ideas and plans with local people.

Our first opportunity for the latter comes in the form of National Heritage Week and a talk and discussion session at the Corlea Environmental Awareness Day & Bioblitz - an event facilitated by Bord na Mona staff and involving a wide range of partners delivering a day packed full of events and activities centered around the Corlea Trackway Centre in the midst of worked and restoring bog habitats and a wealth of archaeology

I'll be around for much of the day to interact with event participants and will be presenting our project aims and the WWP concept in an evening talk at 7pm in the Corlea Centre at the same time launching an online consultation on the project.

In the talk you'll hear about successful wetland restoration projects and the benefits they bring to wildlife and people, how a WWP could take shape in the Longford/Roscommon area, who needs to be involved and a vision for how it might look in future. Of course there will be time for a discussion afterwards and part of that discussion will be the project team listening to your own views and aspirations for the area.

As well as presenting this project there are many great events planned for the day, see you there!
